ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN BAHASA GAUL (SLANG) TERHADAP EKSISTENSI BAHASA INDONESIA DI KALANGAN GEN Z

Abstract

article aims to analyze the use of slang language(slang) on the existence of the Indonesian languageamong the Gen Z generation. The rapid developmentof technology and social media has influenced the wayThis young people use language, resulting in variousforms of non-standard language. This study uses aqualitative approach with a descriptive method througha literature review. Data were obtained from varioussources such as books, scientific journals, andliterature relevant to the topic of discussion. Theresults of the study indicate that the use of slanglanguage has a significant influence on the existence ofthe Indonesian language. Slang can serve as a meansof self-expression and linguistic creativity, but on theother hand, it can lead to a decrease in the use of properand correct Indonesian, especially in formal situations.Therefore, awareness from the younger generation isneeded to continue using Indonesian in accordancewith proper rules amidst the dynamic development oflanguage.
